15. Research ethics

Research is central to how we work at Signifiid. We are committed to conducting all research in an appropriate and professional manner. Responsibly, respectfully, and transparently.
Where we carry out research involving individuals (e.g. interviews, workshops, or ethnographic studies), we apply the following principles:

Informed consent
Participants are made aware of the purpose of the research, how their information will be used, and their right to withdraw at any time. We only collect information with appropriate consent or a clear lawful basis.

Data minimisation
We only gather information that is necessary to meet the objectives of the project. We avoid collecting excessive or irrelevant personal data.

Confidentiality and anonymity
Where appropriate, participant identities are kept confidential and outputs are anonymised to prevent identification. Any direct quotes or insights are used responsibly and in context.

Responsible handling of sensitive information
If sensitive or personal topics arise during research, we handle this information with additional care and restrict its use to what is strictly necessary for the project.

Security and access control
Research data is stored securely and access is limited to those directly involved in the project.

Retention and deletion
Research data is retained only for as long as necessary to deliver the project and any agreed follow-up work. After this, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
We aim to ensure that all research conducted by Signifiid not only meets legal requirements but reflects a high standard of professional integrity and respect for the people behind the data.
We are seeking insight specific to our client’s brief. We do not gather and retain data for no purpose.
