Hendzel

Furniture designers have always been fascinated by the humble chair. Many have written their names into the history of furniture design by their own icon interpretation, from the Eames Lounge Chair, Egg Chair by Arne Jacobsen, Philippe Starck’s Ghost Chair, or Le Corbusier’s metal & leather chairs, the chair often becomes the defining work of a furniture designer.

So, when we looked to reinterpret the brand identity for Yan Hendzel and the bespoke furniture he creates for his customers, we developed a simple chair icon forming a visual ‘h’ for Hendzel.

The colour was chosen to blend into the natural hues of wood – the material of choice for Hendzel, whilst retaining enough strength and uniqueness to be a strong identifier itself.

The typeface is also highly distinctive and was chosen to reflect the lines and style of Hendzel furniture.

Show here are the logo – and the usual variations we create to cover social media and different layout options, stationery, window decal and coffee table book design.
